Typical Thinking

Typical

Archetype in Greek and meant “original”

Stereotype in Greek meant “firm model”.

Archetype is an open-ended template ONTO which we build stories. It is a starting point.

So an archetypical thinker is one who’s imprinting allows for new concepts, he can think for himself. The imprinting provides a foundation for developing new and innovative concepts. He is centered. Makes a good genius.

Stereotype is a closed-ended template INTO which we reduce stories. It is a finishing point.

So a sterotypical thinker is one who’s imprinting limits new concepts, he cannot think for himself. The imprinting imposes a limit past which he cannot go. He is an idiot. Cookie cutter. Makes a good slave.

No matter how you slice and dice this, it still comes out to an 80/20 mix between idiot/centered. Whereas a centered can strike out in new directions and is individualistic, the idiot moves “en masse”, a choreographed dance of dumb.
